The association also coordinates the state representative team to compete at the Goalball Australia National Championships and the Goalball South Australia State Talent Squad.
Goalball South Australia was formed in 2013, following significant development of the sport, through the work of the Australian Paralympic Committee and Blind Sports SA and by the support of the South Australian Office for Recreation and Sport.
A new central Goalball SA hub has been established at Annesley Annesley Junior School, Wayville. The training sessions run from 2pm - 4pm in the school gymnasium, in the Winter Months of the year. There are a range of public transport options including Bus 200, The City-Glenelg Tram, and also the City Ring Route Bus Service. This enables players to attend weekly goalball sessions with trained coaches, referees and equipment.
Goalball SA is run by a committee of volunteers, assisting with the daily administration and operations of the association.
Goalball SA is affiliated with Goalball Australia, and adheres to the rules and regulations as directed by the International Blind Sports Association (IBSA) the International Goalball Federation.
